Celebrating How Far You’ve Come

Celebrate your progress

Whether you are two months or two years into the divorce process, it is so important to look not only forward to where you ultimately want to be, but to stop and acknowledge how far you have come.

Especially when we are going through a difficult time, feeling the pain and trying to stay strong while learning the lessons presented in each situation, we need to take the time to congratulate ourselves.

  • How far have you come?
  • What is different now than when you first realized that your marriage was over?
  • What are the greatest insights that you have had about yourself?
  • Where are you stronger and wiser?
  • How might you do things differently going forward?

Celebrating your progress is a form of self love.  It means that you are acknowledging that you have worked hard through the process.  It also gives you an opportunity to see the value that has come out of the struggle.  When you focus on yourself and your progress, it helps to increase your self esteem and gives you the added energy to keep on moving forward.

Celebrating also helps you to put your future in perspective. You can begin to see that this is indeed a process.  While you may have your ups and downs; go two steps forward and one step back; at the end of the day, you are ahead of where you were.  It helps you to realize that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that when you emerge you will not be the same person.  That you will be a stronger, healthier, wiser person who is more conscious of your choices, emotions and behaviors.

How can you celebrate your progress as we wind down 2011?

Testimonials

I probably couldn’t have made it through my divorce with such a positive outlook on my new journey without Karen. She is extremely intuitive and has a way of narrowing in on your exact thoughts and feelings. She doesn’t hesitate to share her own experiences, which made me realize that I am never alone in this process. Karen helped me keep my optimism during tough times and kept me focused on moving forward while being true to myself. She’s an amazing coach and person, who I now consider a dear friend. I am very lucky to work with her. She cut threw the fog and helped me navigate one of the most challenging times in my life.
